Lower Mill Site, Cooroy

Visited Cooroy the other day (near Noosa) and went to the Old Lower Mill Site in town that I had seen before; but was closed, and is now occupied by the Cooroora Woodworkers. In the old house is a display of their work and an explanation of the site, but of interest to me was the old Kiln and Boilerhouse that was used to dry the freshly sawn green timber to get it to market quicker.

Took some shots with the X20 in some various filter modes which I thought added to the industrial feel of the place. Hope you enjoy.

Whilst in town I also went to the Butter Factory Arts Centre that had a great exhibition "A Letter A Week" on display that was a small local project that became an international, internet based project, involving 30 artists in seven countries producing a letter of the alphabet art piece every fortnight. Really enjoyable and quite inspiring, so if you get the chance to see it near you; as Molly says do yourself a favour.
