Well today we were off on a bus tour around the old city to start with to get our bearings. Really good little tour and very informative. Then off to a great wine shop just around the corner from where we are staying. Even a 1937 d'Yem for a measley €6600. Won't be bringing that one home, sorry. :-)
We then just walked the old city which is very beautiful looking at the buildings before some lunch at a cafe, just roll and a small vino before heading to St Andrews cathedral, commenced in 1096. We then climbed the bell tower for a great view of the city, all 231 narrow winding steps up and then down again.
Stupid misty rain forced us in for coffee then a bit of retail therapy before return to hotel for champagne followed by a siesta.
Back out later to great little restaurant, family run with beautiful food and some great local wine. Misty rain continuing so back to hotel for a retiring tipple of Bordeaux.
The rants and ravings of a guy who has a love of Tasmania, golf, wine, food and photography. My wife Jane is an amazing textile artist/quilter (http://quiltingjane.blogspot.com.au/ ) and we have two great kids who one day will leave home, hopefully.
