Easy start to the day with beakfast at Cafe Iruna which was supposedly the haunt of Hemingway on his numerous visits to Pamplona.
Then off to buy bus tickets to Bilbao for tomorrow, then onto the info centre and then directed to the bicycle shop to hire a couple for the day. Couple of young guys in the shop were most helpful with info and what to do. Decided to ride down the river and along the Pilgrims path , the 'Camina'. Its about an 800 km trek to find yourself and there were plenty of the pilgrims, mainly old single females, walking along the path. Was the most beautiful ride for about 4 hours before returning to the old city. Plenty of old bridges, some roman, and even what I thought was a mill but turned out to be a pioneering micro hydro plant.
Time to do some washing in a self serve laundromat, where I got to show the pilgrims how to operate the machines, god knows how they'll find their way, but he probably does. :-)
After little siesta and walk, off to a bar for dinner. Had some great tapas and vino, before running into an irish guy I met at the laundromat. Jane eventually went back to the hotel leaving me with the Irish guys, VERY BAD IDEA. Way too many red wines later stumbled back to the hotel to find someone not too happy with me, can't understand why? :-)
Oh well good sleep and apparently I did snore, must have been good wine then.
The rants and ravings of a guy who has a love of Tasmania, golf, wine, food and photography. My wife Jane is an amazing textile artist/quilter (http://quiltingjane.blogspot.com.au/ ) and we have two great kids who one day will leave home, hopefully.
