Up early to catch the train to Cordoda today. Hadnt booked this one so just got the tickets at the station and on our way. Just loving train travel in Spain, I know you would love it Barry. Got into Cordoba at 10.30 and quick taxi to the hotel, then off on shank's pony around the city. Roman bridges, Islamic mosques, LOTs Christian (read catholic) cathedrals, churches and a great Jewish quarter.Really lovely city.
Lunch was tapas and vino, creamed tomato with jamone and egg plus fried eggplant drizzled with honey ( found out latter to be a type of mollasses, no bee cane).
Then off walking again before little siesta in the arvo.
Found great cage for dinner, Le 10 Taberna with lovely staff who at the end of the meal gave us a free sherry from their own barrels inside.goats cheese, more fried eggplant and finish with mousse cream catalan, exquisite, oh maybe a couple of vinos but who can remember. Finish the night with walk and some photos of ancient roman mills and a bridge across the river Guadalquivir before a leisurely midnight retire.
