Returning to our Le 10 TabeRNA cafe for breakfast this morning; same staff and a good start to the day. Off to the world heritage site, The Cathedral De Cordoba, the third largest Mosque in the world, commenced in the 6th Century and expanded upon over the centuries until the reconquest by the Christians who the built a Cathedral inside the Mosque. Just awe inspiring to see this construction and to think different faiths CAN co exist, isn't that a funny concept. Just beautiful and a good couple of hours inside just flew.
Then off ro the Museum of Acheology built over the ruins of a roman theatre, really interesting and beautifully done. Also modern and airconditioned.:-)
Off walking again, should have put a pedometer on before we left to see how many kms we are doing. No fancy lunch today just stopped at a supermarket and bought a couple of Baguettes, jamone, cheese, packet nuts, chips, couple bottles water and 2 little sweet pastries (all for $5) and had lunch in the park.
Went our separate ways then in the heat of the day, me to see some roman ruins, which of course were closed tuesdays , got to read the opening times more closely before wandering back to hotel, exhausted. Not good walking about 10 kms in the middle of the day!!!!
Only a few minutes respite before heading to our booking at the Cordoba Arab baths for relaxation and massage. Great couple of relaxing hours that were well deserved. Back to hotel and then wandering around, bit of dinner, sherry and bed, in that order' exhausted, and up to Barcelona tomorrow.
The rants and ravings of a guy who has a love of Tasmania, golf, wine, food and photography. My wife Jane is an amazing textile artist/quilter (http://quiltingjane.blogspot.com.au/ ) and we have two great kids who one day will leave home, hopefully.
