Paris Day 24, 18th September 2013

Up today hoping for better weather, I mean it is only the beginning of autumn. Was a bit grey with some patches of sunlight so here's hoping. Off on the bus to do the sites while its not raining. This is a really good thing to do in Paris as 4 separate routes around the city and gives you a good overview of the sites to visit and certainly let's you get your bearings. Very cold and grey , really enjoying my new coat, and for those that know me well, it takes a lot for me to be wearing jeans and a coat.:-)
After a lunch of warm French onion soup and a glass of Bordeaux it was off too the Arc De Triumphs. Wouldn't you know it, as soon as we got to the top, down it came. You can see the Eiffel tower in my photo, I promise. Back down and a wet walk down the boulevard to the safety of hot coffee we strategized and settled on the rest of the afternoon at the Louvre.
Jane came here last year So we separated and I had a great time looking at the old castle beneath, the Egyptian section and then the Charles X section of the palace, amazing. We joined again after a couple of hours and then took a lazy walk , now it had stopped raining, back to the hotel, via a lovely restaurant were we enjoyed dinner and a vino.
8.30 by now so we decided to stay in as we are going to try Versailles tomorrow, which will require an early start.
